About Sarah
Sarah Zimmerman (she/her) is a third-year doctoral student in the School Psychology Ph.D. program at UMD. She’s from St. Louis, Missouri, and earned her Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from Duke University. Her research interests surround culturally responsive interventions, risk and resilience, social-emotional learning, supporting immigrant and refugee students, and the family-school-community relationship. Her current research focuses on peers and academic motivation of refugee secondary students in Malaysia. In her free time, Sarah loves swing dancing, reading fantasy novels, and listening to live music.
