About Hong

Hong is a Clinical Psychology doctoral student under the mentorship of Dr. Andrea Chronis-Tuscano. She graduated from Yale University with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and a certificate in Education Studies. After graduation, Hong spent two years as an Intramural Research Training Award (IRTA) fellow, under Dr. Ellen Leibenluft and Dr. Melissa Brotman, at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). She was named the 2020 Department of Psychology’s Maryland Scholar in Diversity Science. Hong’s research interests include 1) parent-child interactions as risk/protective factors in the context of anxiety and ADHD across development, 2) dyadic statistical approaches to model these processes, with the aim of using this information to 3) inform and adapt interventions to better serve the mental health and well-being of families. In her free time, she enjoys trying out new recipes, playing tennis, and watching (and rewatching!) episodes of “The Voice.”
