About Dr. Lui

Dr. Joyce Lui is an Assistant Research Professor at the University of Maryland, College Park. She completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Washington State University in 2018 and her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2020. Clinically, Dr. Lui has worked as a therapist, trainer, and supervisor in school, outpatient, pediatric, inpatient, and residential settings, emphasizing evidence-based assessment and interventions for common child emotional and behavioral problems. Dr. Lui’s research seeks to improve mental health services and outcomes for youth with disruptive behaviors, with a special interest in youth presenting with co-occurring callous-unemotional traits. She aims to develop and test effective interventions with an eye toward sustained implementation in routine care settings serving youth with persistent behavioral difficulties.
